Where should I go in China?

When should I go?

The recommended season to travel in China are in the spring and fall. The temperature at this time of the year is ideal, but this is also considered the high traveled seasons. The other seasons will give tourists the chance to contend with less crowds.

Who can visit an orphanage?

If you are a parent who adopted a child from China and wished to visit the orphanage can make arrangements to visit. Most orphanages are very cooperative to grant that wish, but expect to obtain prior approval for their visit.

How do I get approval to visit my child's orphanage?

There are many ways this can be arranged.

  • The adoption agency will have to contact the China Center for Adoption Affairs (CCAA) to allow for the approval of the visit. This might also take a long process to get approval.
  • You can also contact the orphanage on your own. Since request should be done in chinese, this will take the most time and effort from you and you will be lucky to hear back from the orphanage. CCE will be able to help you out with this.

What is an orphanage visit like?

Families often have different goals for their orphanage visit. Adoptive parents might be curious as to the child’s orphanage. Most times, the parents are hoping to find out more biological information of the child. Lastly, a child might have some adoption-related issues that a visit could resolve.

Do I need a Visa to visit China?
