Day 1: Departure from US

You will depart today from U.S. on your connecting trans-continental flight to Beijing.

Day 2: Two Beijing 

We will be met by our local guide at the Beijing International Airport and transfer to our hotel. The balanced of the day is at leisure.

Day 3: Beijing

After breakfast, visit Tiananmen Square, which at 98 acres, is the largest public square in the world and site of many history-making events. Our kids will fly a kite on Tian’an men followed by walking tour of the impressive Forbidden City, the secluded and guarded home to the Emperors of China. A visit to the 15th century Temple of Heaven shows you where the Emperors made offerings for the harvest. And now it is a popular place for local people to play chess, practice tai chi or sing Peking Opera. This evening we will attend a Dai ethnic dinner party and enjoy the famous acrobatic or kungfu show. (B.L.D)

Day 4: Beijing

After breakfast at hotel, bus transfer to visit Great Wall, one of history’s most remarkable accomplishments that extends over 3,000 miles. A walk along a section of this enormous wall is a not-to-be-missed experience. According to a famous Chinese saying, “One is not a real hero until one reaches the Great Wall.” Enjoy an authentic tea ceremony before back to hotel. (B.L)

Day 5: Beijing/Chengdu

In the morning, visit the breath-taking Yiheyuan – Imperial Summer Palace. Its resplendently ornate temples, pavilions and corridors, set amidst a graceful landscape along Kunming Lake, epitomize the Northern Chinese Garden. We will stop by at Beijing Cloisonné Factory, learn the process and making of cloisonné, Beijing’s most traditional handicraft art. In the afternoon, fly to Chengdu. Chengdu was the capital city of the Kingdom of Shu (221-263). (Three Kingdoms) culture took strong root here. And here still exists some of the richest of the remains of the Three Kingdoms Period. Chengdu is now the capital of China’s most populous province, Sichuan. Pleasantly laid out with broad streets lined by brown and white stucco traditional two-storied houses with balconies of carved wood, this dynamic and colorful city has famously extrovert population. Chengdu has been newly regarded as one of the ten most livable cities in China. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel. Remainder of the day is at leisure. (B.L)

Emei Mountain

Day 6: Chengdu/Yaan

Morning visit Shu Embroidery Institute. Shu Embroidery is one of the four famous embroidery style in China. It is known as the “treasure of Sichuan” since Han Dynasty. Observe the talented workers’ elegant demonstrations and fine artworks. Take a stroll along the Jin Li Street — The First Street of the Shu Kingdom and transfer you back to the ancient time. Enjoy the culture and local specialties. After lunch, drive to Yaan Panda Reserve. On the way, stop over at local mountain village to enjoy natural surrounding of the area. Day 7: Yaan/Chengdu

After breakfast at hotel, visit the Panda Center and Panda Museum, Which is a comprehensive state natural reserve of 200,000 hectares. It was one of the earliest research bases established in China and was placed on UNESCO Man and Biosphere Reserve Network in 1980. Sixty-seven pandas are among 150 pandas in Wolong Panda Reserve managed by the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda. Transfer back to Chengdu. (B.L)

TERMS & CONDITIONS

Reservation and Payments: A $500 per person deposit is required to secure your reservation. Final payment will be due 90 days before departure. Tour cost is based on current exchange rate and subject to change due to foreign currency fluctuation.

Cost of Tour Does Not Include: International roundtrip airfare not listed in the “Included Features” section; passport and visa application fee trip cancellation and baggage insurance, personal items and expenses, airport transfers for those not on groups flights, excess baggage; airport taxes gratuities to guides, drivers and tour leader optional programs, panda holding fee trip extension, orphanage visit, transportation to/from orphanage, orphanage approval fee to civil affairs, meals not listed as included, soft drinks and alcoholic beverages or at any other time not mentioned as included. Airline taxes and departure fees, which are subject to change. Tour fares are subject to change.

Passport and Visa: A valid passport for at least six months after the date of return is required. We can apply for the Chinese visa on behalf of tour participants. Please click Visa to China for more information.

Medical Responsibilities: Medical or other unexpected expenses during the trip are the responsibility of the participant. We advised participants to obtain travel insurance. Information about insurance will be send to you upon receipt of deposit. Use of a Chinese medical facility requires prepayment prior to the physician seeing/treating the patient, even in emergency situation. Travel to China can be difficult for hose with disabilities or requiring special medical attention/services. We ask that you consult your physician prior to the tour program and obtain necessary immunization and medications.

Cancellation Policy: Chinese Cultural Exchange (CCE) must strictly adhere to its cancellation policy to offset costs incurred prior to the commencement of the tour, which may include, but are not limited to: advance payments to land operators, communication expenses; development/promotional expenses; and the loss of time that might have permitted resale of reserved space. Cancellation for all or any part of the trip will not be effective until they are received in writing in the office of CCE. Cancellation received after confirmation of booking and up to 90 days before departure, is subject to a $300 per person cancellation fee. No refunds will be given for cancellation within 90 days of departure. We strongly recommend for your protection that you purchase Trip Cancellation Insurance. Cancellation insurance forms can be requested from us.

Basis of Rates: All prices are based on two persons sharing a room. All prices and fares are quoted in U.S. dollars. The rates are based on current tariffs and are subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances. While we will do everything possible to maintain the listed prices, if it is necessary to levy a surcharge, we reserve the right to do so, and notification will be given at the time of final invoicing.

Photography: Chinese Cultural Exchange and our partner organizations reserve the right to take photographs or videos during the operation of any tour or part thereof and to use the resulting photography for Chinese Cultural Exchange promotional purposes. By making a reservation with Chinese Cultural Exchange, participants agree to allow their images to be used in such photography.

Liabilities Clause: CCE and the sponsoring organization act only as agent for the passenger with respect to travel services. We assumes no responsibility or liability in whole or in part for any injury, damage, loss, delays, delayed or changed departure or arrival, missed carrier connection, weather, strikes, acts of God, circumstances beyond our control, war, quarantine, criminal activity, expense, accident, sickness, injury or death to person or property, or mechanical defect, failure or negligence of any nature howsoever caused in connection with any accommodations, restaurant, transportation or other services or for any substitutions of hotels, or of common carrier equipment beyond our control, with or without notice, or for any additional expenses occasioned thereby. If due to weather, flight schedules or other uncontrollable factors you are required to spend an additional night, you will be responsible for your own hotel, transfers and meal costs. No refund will be made for any unused portion of the tour due to these causes or voluntary cancellations, Baggage and personal effects are the sole responsibility of the participant at all times. The right is reserved to decline to accept or retain any person as a member of these tours at any time. CCE reserves the right to change the itinerary of the tour without prior notice. CCE shall not be liable for any loss whatsoever to passengers by reason of such cancellation, substitution or changes. If the tour is cancelled by CCE for any reason, CCE shall have no liability beyond the refund of all tour participants’ deposits received by it. CCE may increase the tour price in the event of cost increases. The airline tickets when issued shall constitute the sole contract between the air company concerned and the purchaser of these tours and/or passenger. The carriers are not responsible for any act, omission, or event during the time tour participants are not aboard their conveyance. By registering for this tour, tour participant certifies that he or she is mentally and physically capable of full participation in this tour. Upon payment of a deposit, tour participant indicates acceptance of the above terms and conditions.
