Asian Market Tour and Dumpling Workshop

Curious, overwhelmed or intimidated by Asian markets?

Interested in learning more about popular Asian produce, products and shortcut tips for making classic or creative Asian dishes at home? Do you enjoy new food, culture, travel and shopping? If so, this tour is for you.
Join Ming Hua He, well-known Chinese culture and travel expert, for this fun, unique culinary and cultural experience! Begin your guided tour at A Dong Asian Supermarket, where you will learn how to find and buy popular and traditional Asian groceries.
Then, drive to CCE for the workshop site for a dumpling cooking class. You will learn the secrets of making authentic home-style dumplings.
Please bring your own apron and a cookie sheet or pizza pan to take the leftovers home. And, don’t forget to take a notepad with you for some insightful information.

When I saw that West Hartford Continuing Education offered an Asian market tour and dumpling workshop, I had to sign up. Not only am I crazy about dumplings–I’ve made them before, but always as taught by a cookbook, never by a native Chinese person–I’m also curious to learn about the exotica of a big Asian grocery store.

Chinese Cultural Exchange (CCE) and our partner organizations reserve the right to take photographs or videos during the operation of any tour or workshop thereof and to use the resulting photography for promotional purposes. By making a reservation with Chinese Cultural Exchange, participants agree to allow their images to be used in such photography.

    Other Policies

        1. Tickets only valid for date and time selected.

     

        1. Tickets can only be used for the exact date and time for which they have been purchased. Once purchased, tickets may not be used or exchanged for any other date or time. During purchase, you must review all booking details carefully to ensure that all are correct and that there are no errors.
        1. CCE reserves the right to cancel any class due to insufficient enrollment. If a class is canceled, we will contact you by phone and transfer your fee to another class of your choice or refund your fee.
